Costa Mare – Ialyssos
A relaxed spot by the sea that puts you straight into holiday mode. The food is good, the sun loungers are comfortable and you usually pay less than at the trendy beach clubs.
Our personal beach guide: from quiet bays on the east coast to relaxed beach clubs close to the villa. For each beach you will find the driving time from Villa Pastida in Pastida, what to expect and our own tip.

Pastida lies centrally in the north of Rhodes, so you are at the sea within fifteen minutes, on both the west and the east coast. Perfect for a quick swim at the end of the afternoon.

The town beach of Rhodes, on the edge of the new town. Start the day with breakfast or lunch at beach bar Ronda and combine it with a walk through the Old Town.
The historic spa of Kallithea with its distinctive rotunda, set on a bay with crystal-clear water. Swimming, snorkelling and walking in a setting you won't find anywhere else on the island. There is a small entrance fee for the complex.
The east coast is home to the best-known sandy beaches on Rhodes. The water here is usually calmer than on the west coast, which also makes these beaches suitable for families. From Villa Pastida they are an easy drive along the inland roads.
For us the most beautiful beach on Rhodes: a stunning bay with caves, clear water and a relaxed atmosphere without mass tourism.
A long golden sandy beach about 25 kilometres south of Rhodes Town, below the rock with the Tsambika monastery. Turquoise water, beach facilities and water sports for young and old.
The most popular and best-organised beach on Rhodes: more than five kilometres long, with shallow water, beach bars, water sports and nightlife in the evening. Ideal if you want everything within reach.
A small, green bay with emerald water, small rocks, sun loungers, showers and a taverna. Ladiko lies just before Anthony Quinn Bay, so the two are easy to combine.
A photogenic bay named after the famous actor. The seabed is mostly rocky and the water is crystal clear – a favourite with snorkellers and with the boats that anchor here.
A sandy beach on the east coast with a stylish beach club. Choose between luxury front-row suites or a single sun lounger, and enjoy a Mediterranean beach menu with craft cocktails.
In the mood for a sunbed, good music and a cocktail within reach? These are the beach clubs we love to go to ourselves. Booking ahead is recommended in high season.
Right on the sea, with a relaxed atmosphere, good food, refreshing drinks and regular live music. A lovely spot for all ages, a short drive from the villa.
A beach club with a retro, entirely Italian feel, styled in soft butter yellow. The food is fantastic – Italian indulgence with your feet in the sand.
Not a classic beach club, but an Ibiza-style beach and pool club with a large heated pool, comfortable sunbeds and frequent live music. A big plus: you can shower here too. There are pool parties on several days of the week – check the programme in advance.
A unique beach bar in a cave beneath the cliff, right next to Kallithea Springs. Beautiful sea views and a wide choice of beers – popular with tourists and locals alike.
The south is quieter and wilder, with some of the most beautiful spots on the island. Allow 50 minutes to an hour and a half by car, so make a day trip of it, for example combined with Lindos.
One of the most beautiful bays in Greece, next to the white village of Lindos and below the Acropolis. Crystal-clear water and a romantic setting – no wonder it is one of the most popular wedding locations on Rhodes.
A relaxed, luxurious beach club with a pool. Unwind on a sunbed or in a cabana, enjoy good food (including sushi) and creative cocktails. Quiet during the day, a little livelier later on. Sunbeds here are remarkably affordable.
Restaurant-bar The Lighthouse has been family-run since 1992. The beautiful beach in front of it invites you to swim, relax and take the day slowly.
At the southern tip of Rhodes two seas meet: calm water on one side, waves on the other. One of the most impressive places on the island and a hotspot for kite- and windsurfers.
In our opinion it is Stegna (Grande Blue) on the east coast: a stunning bay with caves and clear water, about a 35-minute drive from Villa Pastida. St. Paul's Bay near Lindos is a strong second.
Costa Mare in Ialyssos is a 12-minute drive, Faliraki beach about fifteen minutes. Rhodes Town and Elli Beach are around 20 minutes away.
The east coast usually has calmer water and sandy beaches, such as Tsambika, Stegna and Faliraki. The west coast is windier and mostly pebbly. From Pastida you reach both coasts quickly.
Faliraki with its shallow water, the sandy beach of Tsambika and the pool club Club 8 in Faliraki. You will find more tips in our guide Rhodes with children.
We recommend a rental car: the most beautiful beaches are spread across the island. From Villa Pastida in Pastida, most beaches are 15 to 35 minutes away by car.
Villa Pastida is a boutique luxury holiday villa with a private pool and rooftop jacuzzi in the authentic village of Pastida – at the sea within fifteen minutes and the ideal base for all of Rhodes.
