About us

Why we wrote this guide

Stylianos was born on Rhodes and his family still lives there. Felicia lived on Corfu for many years. After many holidays on different Greek islands, we fell in love with Pastida – and we got married at Kallithea Springs.

In 2020 we started building Villa Pastida, since followed by Villa Pastida II. Because we know the island from the inside, our guests get the tips you won't find in an ordinary guidebook.

Pastida: our village

Pastida is a real Greek village, free of mass tourism but full of life. Within walking distance of Villa Pastida you will find:

  • tavernas, a gyros shop, a café and a patisserie with ice cream
  • a traditional bakery (closed on Sundays) and a butcher
  • small supermarkets and a pharmacy on the village square
  • the bus stop on the village square, next to the mini market

For bigger shopping trips, Lidl and Sklavenitis are about a 15-minute drive away.

Practical tips for Rhodes

Getting around

A rental car is the easiest way to explore the island; the most beautiful spots are spread out. At Villa Pastida you park right at the door. We are happy to arrange a taxi or airport transfer for you.

Eating out

Greeks eat late, usually from 7:30 pm. Some restaurants close on Tuesdays, and opening hours vary in spring and autumn. Book ahead at popular places.

Water and plumbing

Don't drink the tap water; bottled water is available everywhere, including the mini markets in Pastida. In Greece, toilet paper goes in the bin, not down the toilet.

Quiet hours and siesta

Between 3 pm and 5:30 pm, and at night from 10 pm, Greeks respect each other's rest. So plan your outings for the morning or early evening.
